Do I really need prescrition sunglasses if i don't wear prescription eyeglasses?
My optometrist told me i need prescription sunglasses and I'm confused because I don't even wear a prescription eye glasses. I don't know a lot about glasses since i pretty much have a 20/20 vision. But here's what her prescription says: wear type: distance only; lens design: single vision; materials and coating: anti-reflective and UV coating then OD: -.25, cylinder +.50 axis 165; OS: -.25, cylinder .+50 and axis 180. what does it mean?
Do i really need this or am i just being taken advantaged of? I had to pay $125 bucks on top of what my insurance covers. I told her I don't like driving at night because of the glare but I can tolerate it. So not sure why she gave me prescription sunglasses.
I'd say you're being taken for a ride...-0.25 and - 0.5 is barely even anything! My prescription is -3.5 and -3.75 and I do need glasses to drive. If you can pass the eye test at the DMV you don't need glasses to drive.
